Refund Policy
The Veritome Toolkit is a subscription to a software service. This policy explains when subscription fees are refundable. It distinguishes business buyers (the default) from buyers who are acting as consumers, who have additional statutory rights under EU and Irish consumer law.
1. Overview
Which part of this policy applies to you depends on whether you bought the subscription in the course of a business or as a consumer. At checkout you confirm that you are purchasing on behalf of your organisation (a business purchase). If you are an individual, sole trader, or micro-entity buying partly outside your trade, business, or profession, you may instead have consumer rights — see Section 3.
2. Business subscriptions (default)
2.1 No refund after activation
For business subscriptions, fees are non-refundable once the subscription is activated and you have been given access to the paid Tier, except where required by law or expressly stated below. This is because access to the software service begins immediately on activation.
2.2 Cancellation
You may cancel at any time from your account settings. Cancellation stops future renewals; it takes effect at the end of the then-current billing period, and you keep access until then. We do not provide pro-rata refunds for the unused part of a paid period unless required by law.
2.3 Service credits
Paid self-serve Tiers do not include service credits. Any service-level credits are available only on the Enterprise Tier where expressly set out in a signed agreement or order form.
3. Consumer subscriptions (14-day fallback)
If you bought as a consumer:
Under EU and Irish consumer-protection law you generally have a 14-day right to withdraw from a distance contract for a digital service, starting on the day the contract is concluded.
3.1 The 14-day withdrawal right
If this applies to you, you may withdraw within 14 days of subscribing and receive a refund of the fees paid, provided you have not waived the right as described in 3.2.
3.2 Express request to begin immediately, and waiver
Because the service is supplied immediately, if at checkout you both (a) expressly request that we begin providing the service during the 14-day period, and (b) acknowledge that you will lose your right to withdraw once the service has been fully performed, then:
- if you withdraw before the service has been fully performed, we may charge you an amount proportionate to what has been supplied up to the point of withdrawal; and
- once the service has been fully performed with your prior express consent and acknowledgement, your right to withdraw is lost.
This consent and acknowledgement is captured by a separate, non-pre-ticked checkbox at checkout. If you do not give it, you keep the full 14-day withdrawal right and we will not begin the service until that period ends or you ask us to.
4. Annual plans
Annual plans are billed in advance for the year. The rules above apply: business annual plans are non-refundable after activation (cancellation stops the next renewal); consumer annual plans are subject to the 14-day withdrawal right in Section 3.
5. Free Tier
No fees are charged for the Free Tier, so no refunds arise.
6. Failed, duplicate, or incorrect charges
If you were charged in error — for example a duplicate charge, or a charge after a valid cancellation — contact us and we will investigate and refund any incorrect amount. This is separate from, and not limited by, the rules above.
7. How to request a refund
Email info@veritome.eu with your account email and the reason for your request. For consumer withdrawals, please tell us you are exercising your 14-day withdrawal right.
