Veritome Academy is operated by Relay Labs Ltd (trading as Veritome), a company registered in Ireland. The Academy is a public training surface; it is separate from the Veritome Toolkit — our EU AI Act compliance software at app.veritome.eu — which is governed by its own Toolkit Subscription Agreement. Where you or your employer also use the Toolkit, that agreement governs the Toolkit and these terms govern the Academy.

The Academy provides free, self-paced training programmes about the EU AI Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689), organised by role and by sector. Individual learners can read, complete module quizzes, and earn a certificate of completion at no charge, with no payment details collected. You sign in with a one-time email link; there are no passwords.

We may add, update, restructure or retire programmes and modules at any time — the Act’s guidance evolves, and keeping content current sometimes means changing it. Your progress records and issued certificates are not affected by content updates, except where a certificate is revoked under section 5.

Academy programmes are general educational material about the EU AI Act. Content is written with care and checked against the Regulation, but laws, guidance and enforcement practice evolve, and how the Act applies to a specific organisation, AI system or situation depends on facts we do not know.

Nothing in the Academy constitutes legal advice, and completing a programme does not create a solicitor–client or other professional-advice relationship with Relay Labs Ltd. For decisions with legal consequences — classification calls, market-placement decisions, contractual positions — consult a qualified lawyer.

A Veritome Academy certificate is a certificate of completion: a hash-sealed record that a named person completed a named programme on a stated date, verifiable by anyone at its public verify URL.

It is not an accredited qualification. It is not validated by Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI), carries no National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) level, and is not issued or recognised by any state body or EU institution. No official EU certificate exists for AI literacy under Article 4 of the AI Act — the duty to ensure a sufficient level of AI literacy rests with each organisation, which decides for itself what training is adequate.

Academy certificates are designed to help organisations document the AI-literacy measures they have taken. Holding certificates does not by itself discharge an organisation’s Article 4 duty, and we make no representation that any regulator will treat a certificate as sufficient evidence on its own.

Enrol with accurate details — certificates are issued in the name you provide, and a certificate obtained under a false identity is void. Your learner account is personal: complete assessments yourself, without impersonation or automated assistance, and do not share sign-in links.

Do not misrepresent a certificate (for example as an accredited or state-recognised qualification), scrape or bulk-download Academy content, probe or disrupt the service, or use it to build a competing training product. We may suspend accounts and revoke certificates obtained or used in breach of these terms; a revoked certificate’s verify URL stops resolving.

We process learner personal data (name, email, employer if given, progress and certificate records) as described in the Veritome Privacy Policy. The Academy is hosted in the EU.

Note that verification is public by design: anyone with a certificate’s verify URL can see the recipient name, programme title and issue date. Do not enrol under a name you are not comfortable appearing on a public certificate page, and contact us if you need a certificate taken down.

Academy content — programme text, quizzes, question banks, certificates and design — is owned by Relay Labs Ltd. You may use it for your own learning and share your own certificate freely, including for your employer’s Article 4 records. You may not republish, resell or redistribute programme content, or present it as your own training material, without our written permission.

The Academy is provided free of charge, "as is" and "as available". We do not promise uninterrupted availability, and we may suspend or withdraw the service for maintenance or otherwise. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Relay Labs Ltd excludes all warranties and is not liable for any loss arising from use of, or reliance on, Academy content or certificates — including regulatory decisions taken on the strength of training alone.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under Irish law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

We may update these terms from time to time — for example when we add features or when guidance on the AI Act develops. The "last updated" date above will change, and material changes will be flagged on this page. Continuing to use the Academy after a change means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and the Irish courts have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them or from use of the Academy. If you are a consumer in another EU member state, this does not deprive you of protections granted by mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence.
